Berlin: German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has voiced concerns over Russia's influence in Europe, stating that Moscow's actions aim to "divide Europe from within" and that it does not allow the continent to live in peace. Wadephul's remarks were made in a statement to Austria's Krone newspaper, where he highlighted the ongoing challenges Europe faces due to Russia's aggressive strategies.

According to Anadolu Agency, Wadephul accused Moscow of engaging in large-scale militarization, cyberattacks, sabotage, and disinformation campaigns. He emphasized Germany's commitment to bolstering its defense capabilities to deter any potential threats from Russia, stating that both military and social strength are crucial to prevent any aggressive moves by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Wadephul also addressed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, pointing out that Russia continues its assaults while Ukraine remains open to peace negotiations. He asserted that Putin seeks to weaken NATO; however, he affirmed that the alliance remains resilient and united.

In reference to the situation in the Gaza Strip, Wadephul stated that Germany considers Israel's security a priority, but underscored the importance of adhering to international law. He also mentioned collaborative efforts by Germany and Austria to enhance humanitarian aid to Gaza, describing these initiatives as significant.
