Gaza city: At least 82 Palestinians, including children and people fetching water, were killed Sunday in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting residential areas and displacement tents across the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
According to Anadolu Agency, the latest attack saw six Palestinians killed and dozens injured by several Israeli strikes on the Zeitoun and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods of Gaza City, medics reported. Additionally, five people were killed and 25 others injured by Israeli strikes on tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in northern Gaza City and the southern city of Khan Younis.
Israeli shelling targeted a civilian gathering in Gaza City, resulting in 11 fatalities, including a child and a doctor. Local health officials reported that over 50 others were injured. In the northern Gaza Strip, an Israeli warplane bombed a house in the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, killing six Palestinians and injuring others.
In a separate airstrike on Hamid Street in western Gaza City, five individuals were killed and several more injured. Another Israeli airstrike targeted a tent sheltering displaced people north of Gaza City, killing three Palestinians and injuring four others.
In the Al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, a young girl and another person were killed, and several people were injured when Israeli forces bombed a family home near the Islamic Complex Mosque. In central Gaza, fighter jets hit a group of civilians in Al-Zawayda town, killing five people and injuring several others, a medical source confirmed.
Israeli warplanes struck a family home in the Al-Sawarkah area west of Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, resulting in 10 deaths. A separate strike on a water distribution point in Nuseirat killed 10 Palestinians, including six children, and wounded 16 others.
In southern Gaza, medics at the Nasser Medical Complex confirmed the deaths of three people following an Israeli strike on a displacement tent in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis. Another strike on a tent sheltering displaced families in Khan Younis killed a young girl and injured five people. Twelve more people, including six children, were killed when Israeli forces bombed tents sheltering displaced families in Al-Mawasi.
Three Palestinians were also shot and killed by Israeli forces while waiting for humanitarian aid west of Rafah in southern Gaza. According to Palestinian figures, at least 833 people have been killed and 5,432 injured by Israeli army fire while waiting to get humanitarian aid since May 27.
Israeli forces have blown up several residential buildings in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, causing extensive destruction to nearby property. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, killing over 58,000 Palestinians so far, most of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has destroyed the enclave and led to food shortages and a spread of disease.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
