Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Troels Lund Poulsen, Denmark's deputy prime minister and defense minister, and Sirio Simona Stenberg, the Faroe Islands foreign minister, to discuss deepening military cooperation and boosting Ukraine's drone and air defense capabilities.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy stated that their talks focused on frontline drone use, interceptors, and long-range strike capacities. He emphasized the importance of enhancing military needs, strengthening air defense, countering missile threats from Russia, and exploring joint defense production.

Zelenskyy expressed Ukraine's intention to expand the 'Danish model' by increasing investment and initiating Ukrainian production on Danish soil. He conveyed gratitude to Denmark and its citizens for their support in Ukraine's defense efforts and acknowledged the humanitarian aid and joint projects being implemented.

Denmark has been a significant contributor of military and humanitarian assistance to Kyiv since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022. Copenhagen's recent contributions include air defense systems, demining equipment, and aid for the reconstruction of Ukrainian infrastructure.

The Faroe Islands, an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, also participated in the discussions, highlighting the collaborative efforts to support Ukraine's defense.
