Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday hosted foreign ministers and heads of standing bodies of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing. This meeting took place ahead of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of SCO Member States, as reported by official Xinhua News.

According to Anadolu Agency, the annual summit is being held in northern Tianjin city. President Xi emphasized that over the past 24 years since its inception, the SCO has adhered to the "Shanghai Spirit," evolving into a mature organization with significant vitality.

Xi stated that China prioritizes the SCO in its neighborhood diplomacy and is dedicated to enhancing the organization's substance and strength. The goal is to safeguard regional security and stability, promote the development and prosperity of member states, and build a closer community with a shared future.

In light of the current international landscape, Xi remarked that the SCO must remain focused, confident, and proactive. He highlighted the organization's role in contributing to global stability and positive energy.
