Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, closed Wednesday at 11,359.01 points, marking a decline of 1.48% from the previous day's close.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index began the day at 11,561.73 points and experienced a drop of 170.8 points compared to Tuesday's closing. Throughout the day, the index reached a low of 11,359.01 and a high of 11,565.02. Out of all the indexes, 82 saw a decrease in value, while 17 ended with gains.
The daily transaction volume was recorded at 134.7 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $3.28 billion. The overall value of the index stood at 10.55 trillion liras, or $257.69 billion. As of 6:40 pm local time (1540GMT), the exchange rates for USD/TRY, euro/lira, and the British pound were 41.0445, 47.6830, and 55.3170, respectively. The price of an ounce of gold was $3,389.05, and Brent oil was priced at $66.95 per barrel.
