Doha: Hamas announced that it has submitted its response to a ceasefire proposal regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The group conveyed that both its response and the collective stance of the Palestinian factions were delivered to mediators.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has acknowledged the receipt of Hamas's response from mediators and is currently evaluating it. Reports from Israel's public broadcaster KAN, which cites sources familiar with the ongoing discussions, suggest that the latest response from Hamas is perceived as more positive compared to previous communications.

The indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas, focusing on the Gaza ceasefire and a potential prisoner release deal, are taking place in Doha, Qatar. Hamas has consistently expressed its readiness to release Israeli captives in exchange for the cessation of hostilities and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

Since October 2023, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 59,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, due to Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip. The extensive military operations have led to the destruction of the enclave's infrastructure, a collapse of its health system, and significant food shortages.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
