New york: Protesters gathered outside the Trump International Hotel in New York to protest Israel's starvation policy in Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, the protest was organized by the Jewish-American anti-occupation group IfNotNow. It attracted hundreds of participants to Columbus Circle under the banner 'Trump: Jews Say No More,' demanding an end to the war in Gaza and greater access for humanitarian aid.

Protesters held signs with messages such as 'Stop ethnic cleansing,' 'Never again is now,' 'Stop starving Gaza,' and 'Not in our name,' as reported by Britain's The Guardian. Morriah Kaplan, IfNotNow's interim executive director, addressed the crowd, describing the Israeli government's blockade of Gaza as a policy of ethnic cleansing through forced mass starvation. She urged the US government to leverage its influence to end these actions.

The New York Police Department intervened in the protest, arresting more than 40 people. Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has continued its offensive on Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of nearly 61,000 Palestinians, almost half of them women and children. The military campaign has severely impacted the enclave and pushed it towards famine.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice regarding its actions in the enclave.
