Istanbul: The geopolitical risks that began with the genocide in Gaza have clearly risen with Israel's attacks on Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, and Syria, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday. 'As new schemes unfold in our region, our state wisdom requires Trkiye to take determined steps to disrupt these plots,' Erdogan told a meeting in Istanbul of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Trkiye.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trkiye is becoming a sought-after actor wherever sides sit down to seek peace. Erdogan emphasized that the country is neither silent in the face of oppression nor pursuing adventures. For the Turkish nation and oppressed people looking towards Trkiye for support, the nation is resolutely implementing what is right.

Trkiye has consistently acted in its neighboring Syria throughout over a decade of civil war and its aftermath, since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and in response to Israel's attacks on Iran, Yemen, and Lebanon. The nation has severed commercial ties with Israel in response to the Gaza genocide while strengthening relationships with Gulf countries.

Erdogan highlighted Trkiye's involvement in regions such as Libya and Karabakh, supporting Azerbaijan in liberating the area. He also shared significant economic achievements, including record-breaking foreign trade figures. On March 28, the nation set a new daily goods export record with $2.064 billion, and in July, achieved the highest monthly goods exports in the republic's history with $25 billion.

The trade deficit has reached its lowest point in nine months, and per capita income rose to $15,463 last year and $15,971 in the first quarter of 2025. Trkiye's gross national product has surpassed $1 trillion for the first time, reaching $1.37 trillion in the first quarter of 2025.
