Jericho: One Palestinian was killed, and 10 others were detained in Israeli military raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, local media said. The official news agency Wafa reported that a 25-year-old Palestinian succumbed to injuries sustained during an Israeli raid in Jericho in the eastern West Bank.
According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli forces also detained four individuals in Jenin, three in Nablus, and one in Tulkarem in the northern West Bank. In the south, Israeli army forces arrested a man and his son in Bethlehem and conducted a search of their house, witnesses reported.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society highlighted that over 10,800 Palestinians have been detained by the Israeli army in the West Bank since October 2023, including 49 women and 450 children. Separately, witnesses mentioned that a young Palestinian was beaten by Israeli forces in northern Salfit in the central West Bank after being stopped and forcibly taken to a nearby settlement. Medical teams later hospitalized him, as reported by Wafa.
The Health Ministry has indicated that since the start of Israel's military actions in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, at least 1,013 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers. In an advisory opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
