Ankara: Trkiye's Central Bank's official international reserves have reached an unprecedented level of $174.4 billion as of August 8, according to official figures released on Thursday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the reserves saw a 3.2% increase, amounting to a rise of $5.38 billion from the previous week's total of $168.99 billion. The increase in reserves is attributed to a rise in foreign currency reserves, which grew by 3.4% to $79.9 billion compared to the previous week.

The Central Bank also reported an increase in gold reserves, which include gold deposits and, where applicable, gold-swapped assets, rising by 3.2% to $86.8 billion during the same period. Additionally, the total of the IMF reserve position and special drawing rights increased by 0.8%, reaching $7.7 billion as of August 8.
