Ankara: The new social media platform Next Sosyal, developed by the Turkish Technology Team (T3), is poised for widespread use in Trkiye and beyond, announced the T3 Foundation Board chair in a statement to Anadolu.
According to Anadolu Agency, Elvan Kuzucu Hidir expressed that Next Sosyal offers unique opportunities for Trkiye, allowing users of all ages to express their thoughts and feelings on a platform that is free from influence, manipulation, misinformation, and profanity. "We aim to grow this platform to have millions of people to build our country's next-generation social media platform," she stated.
Hidir highlighted the relentless efforts of young tech entrepreneurs in Trkiye, who are tirelessly working to enhance the country's defense industry and its social media landscape. She shared that projects developed by these young minds will be implemented to continually improve Next Sosyal, turning it into an even better platform.
Efforts are also underway to create a Turkish large language model (LLM) that is not merely a translation from English. Hidir revealed that the Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Institution (TUBITAK) is researching a basic LLM, and the T3 team is working on developing a Turkish LLM for their AI chatbot, which will be accessible on Next Sosyal.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained considerable importance in Trkiye, as evidenced by seven out of 57 competitions at the country's premier technology, aviation, and space event, TEKNOFEST, directly involving AI. Hidir emphasized the significance of these competitions in training qualified individuals in AI and LLMs, noting that participants as young as high school students were involved.
"Young people are thinking and coming up with ideas, and this curiosity that begins at a young age will continue to grow with the higher education they will receive," Hidir remarked. She concluded by emphasizing the key role these young individuals will play in meeting the human resources needs for establishing initiatives in critical technology areas.
