Saudi Arabia Welcomes Trump’s Gaza Plan, Ready to Collaborate with US to End Israeli Conflict

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia welcomed US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan, expressing readiness to collaborate with the US to achieve a comprehensive deal to end the conflict in the enclave, ensure full withdrawal of Israeli forces, and facilitate unrestricted humanitarian aid deliveries.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Cabinet, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, endorsed Trump's plan to conclude the Gaza conflict, rebuild the territory, and secure unrestricted humanitarian aid entry. The Cabinet's statement, cited by the state news agency SPA, affirmed the Kingdom's willingness to partner with the US to forge a comprehensive agreement to terminate the conflict in the Gaza Strip, execute a complete Israeli withdrawal from the area, and deliver adequate humanitarian assistance without restrictions.

Riyadh emphasized that these measures are intended to bolster efforts towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Qatar confirmed that the Palestinian resistance group Hamas received Trump's proposed plan from mediators late Monday. Trump unveiled a 20-point plan on Monday to end Israel's conflict in Gaza during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.

The plan includes the release of all Israeli captives in exchange for dozens of Palestinian prisoners, the complete disarmament of Hamas, a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the establishment of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee to govern the enclave.

The Israeli army has caused the deaths of over 66,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. The continuous bombardment has made the enclave uninhabitable, leading to starvation and the spread of diseases.
