Turkish President Commemorates 102nd Anniversary of Istanbul’s Liberation

Istanbul: Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday commemorated the 102nd anniversary of Istanbul's liberation from enemy occupation. In a message shared on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, President Erdogan extended his congratulations to the people on the anniversary of the city's liberation.

According to Anadolu Agency, President Erdogan emphasized the significance of the War of Independence, highlighting the "unmatched sacrifices of the martyrs and veterans who valued their homeland above their own lives, and the determination of the Turkish nation to defend its independence and freedom." He reiterated the commitment to work towards protecting and preserving the Republic, which is founded on the legacy of an ancient civilization, aiming to elevate it above the level of contemporary civilizations and strengthen it further with new achievements.

President Erdogan expressed his respect and commemoration for all the heroes of the War of Independence. He concluded by celebrating Istanbul's proud day and extending heartfelt greetings to all citizens, reinforcing the continuous effort to honor and build upon the legacy left by past generations.
