Turkish Cyprus President Highlights Growing Unity Among Turkic States

Khartoum: The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, announced that the concept of 'one nation, three states' is gaining traction as ties between the TRNC, Trkiye, and Azerbaijan continue to strengthen. This development comes ahead of the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala, Azerbaijan, scheduled for October 6-7.

According to Anadolu Agency, Tatar emphasized the expanding cooperation among the three Turkic nations. He pointed out the significant role of the TRNC's observer status within the Organization of Turkic States and underscored efforts to deepen relations with other member countries.

Tatar also highlighted the geopolitical and geostrategic significance of the TRNC's presence in the Eastern Mediterranean for the Turkic world. He confirmed that the TRNC would be represented at the upcoming summit under its own flag and constitutional name, showcasing its established role.

Further discussing the dynamics of regional relationships, Tatar noted the steady progress in connections with Ankara and Baku. He mentioned that Azerbaijan's interest in the TRNC has increased, especially after the Second Karabakh War, reinforcing the 'one nation, three states' concept. Tatar expressed ambitions to advance relations not only with Azerbaijan but also with other member states of the organization.
