Israeli Strikes in Gaza Kill 7 Palestinians Amid Ongoing Ceasefire Negotiations

Gaza city: At least seven people were killed and several others injured in fresh Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, according to medics and witnesses. The attacks occurred as Hamas and Israel continued indirect talks in Egypt to reach a prisoner swap and ceasefire under US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan.

According to Anadolu Agency, medical sources reported that three individuals were killed and others injured when Israeli forces shelled a civilian gathering in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City. Additionally, Israeli artillery shelled a residential apartment in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, resulting in several injuries.

In southern Gaza, an airstrike on the Batin al-Samin area, south of Khan Younis, resulted in the death of a Palestinian. Furthermore, a Palestinian seeking humanitarian aid was shot dead by Israeli forces near a US-Israeli distribution point close to the Morag axis in Khan Younis. Two more Palestinians were reported killed in strikes targeting areas in southern and central Gaza.

The report continues with seven Palestinians wounded by Israeli gunfire while seeking food near a US-run aid distribution center in northern Rafah, southern Gaza. Moreover, eight individuals were injured when the Israeli army struck a tent sheltering displaced families in Khan Younis.

On September 29, Trump unveiled a 20-point proposal aiming for the release of all Israeli captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, a ceasefire, the disarmament of Hamas, and the rebuilding of Gaza. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 67,100 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, since October 2023. This relentless bombardment has left Gaza nearly uninhabitable, causing mass displacement, starvation, and the spread of disease.
