Istanbul Exhibition Showcases Anadolu’s Gaza War Crimes Documentation

Istanbul: An exhibition featuring photographs from Anadolu's book "The Witness," which exposes Israel's actions in Gaza, opened in Istanbul on Tuesday. The exhibition, hosted by the Umraniye Municipality at the Umraniye Culture and Art Center, showcases approximately 50 photographs captured by Anadolu journalists in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Umraniye Mayor Ismet Yildirim remarked on the significance of the exhibition, noting that it marks the second year since the beginning of what he referred to as a massacre by Israel in Gaza starting on October 7, 2023. He expressed that individuals worldwide with compassion stand in solidarity with Gaza, and praised Anadolu Agency for capturing the stark realities through their photographs now exhibited in the municipality's exhibition hall.

Activist Said Ercan, who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla, emphasized the use of Anadolu's books as evidence in international courts. Ercan shared his experiences of witnessing the Israeli oppression firsthand and highlighted the importance of conveying these realities to young people. He noted Trkiye's active stance against the oppression and mentioned the Turkish National Education Ministry's initiative to launch a school program to raise awareness about Gaza in relation to the October 7 conflict.

The exhibition is open to visitors until October 24. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 67,100 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, due to the Israeli military's actions since October 2023. The intense bombardment has left Gaza uninhabitable, causing mass displacement, starvation, and disease outbreaks.
