Paris: Kaja Kallas, EU foreign policy chief, announced that the European Union is prepared to redeploy its Rafah mission and explore methods to support stabilization efforts in Gaza. This statement was made during a meeting in Paris, organized by France, which gathered European and Arab ministers to deliberate on support for Palestinians following the Gaza conflict.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kallas expressed the EU's readiness to reestablish its EUBAM Rafah mission at the Rafah border crossing. Additionally, she mentioned a willingness to discuss how the EUPOL COPPS mandate could assist stabilization forces in the area. Emphasizing the EU's commitment, she noted the importance of their contribution to a sustainable peace plan on the ground.

Kallas highlighted the EU's significant role as a major donor to Palestine, providing both humanitarian aid and support to the Palestinian Authority. She stressed the importance of the EU's involvement in peace discussions, given their substantial contributions. She indicated the intention to redeploy the existing missions and expressed openness to discussions with member states about potential mandate changes or extensions, describing the current situation as the best opportunity for progress.
