Gaza: The Palestinian group Hamas announced that it will return the remains of four Israeli hostages on Monday as part of a ceasefire deal in Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, issued a statement confirming that the bodies of Guy Illouz, Yossi Sharabi, Bipin Joshi, and Daniel Perez will be transferred. This action comes as part of a broader agreement under which Hamas released 20 living Israeli hostages earlier on Monday in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.

The ceasefire agreement's first phase commenced on Friday, initiated under US President Donald Trump's plan to conclude the two-year Israeli conflict in Gaza. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of more than 67,800 Palestinians since October 2023, with most casualties being women and children, rendering much of Gaza uninhabitable.
