Washington: US President Donald Trump expressed his continued disappointment regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin's failure to cease the ongoing war with Ukraine. Speaking at a press conference alongside Argentine President Javier Milei at the White House, Trump shared his thoughts on the strained situation.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump conveyed his discontent about the ongoing conflict, highlighting his past rapport with Putin. "I'm very disappointed, because Vladimir and I had a very good relationship. Probably still do. I don't know why he continues with this war. This war has been so bad for him," Trump remarked to reporters. Emphasizing the adverse effects of the war on Putin's image, he stated, "He could end it quickly."

Trump urged the Russian leader to take concrete steps towards resolving the conflict. He pointed out the economic challenges Russia faces, noting, "And you know they have long lines waiting for gasoline in Russia right now ... And all of a sudden his economy is going to collapse."

In a related announcement, Trump mentioned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to visit Washington on Friday. "I know what he has to say. He wants weapons. He would like to have Tomahawks," Trump commented, referring to Zelenskyy's anticipated request for military aid.

The discourse surrounding the potential provision of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine has been contentious. Trump previously declared his willingness to supply these missiles if Russia does not resolve the conflict. Russia has issued warnings, suggesting that such a move could have severe repercussions.
