Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Wednesday that global unity, which helped achieve peace in the Middle East, should now be directed toward ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy mentioned that he had spoken with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who had just returned from the peace summit held in Egypt's Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday. Zelenskyy emphasized that the same global unity that succeeded in the Middle East must now be harnessed to address the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He described this war as the greatest source of global instability and danger at present.

In his communication on Telegram, Zelenskyy stated, "Peace is possible through strength, and in the case of Russia's aggression, it must be forced to stop the war." He highlighted the importance of collective efforts to bring an end to the hostilities initiated by Russia.

Zelenskyy also discussed with Prime Minister Mitsotakis the recent strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. He underscored Kyiv's initiatives to strengthen its air defense systems in preparation for the upcoming winter. The Ukrainian leader expressed his gratitude towards Greece, acknowledging its potential to help save lives amid the ongoing conflict.

He concluded by saying, "Greece can truly help save lives, and I am grateful for that," recognizing the support provided by Greece in Ukraine's efforts to combat the aggression.
