Brussels: Industrial production decreased by 1.2% in the euro area month-on-month in August, Eurostat announced on Wednesday. The EU also posted a decline of 1% over the same period, the 27-member bloc's statistical authority stated.
According to Anadolu Agency, among member states, the largest monthly decreases were recorded in Germany (minus 5.2%), Greece (minus 4.5%), and Austria (minus 3.1%). The highest increases were observed in Ireland (9.8%), Luxembourg (4.8%), and Sweden (3.6%).
On a yearly basis, both the eurozone and the EU industrial production gained 1.1% in August.
