Istanbul: Trkiye's first lady Emine Erdogan stated that the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals represent the ideals of a world where no one is left behind, with the key to achieving these goals lying in all countries taking responsibility. Her remarks were made during the ministerial session of the Global Zero Waste Forum, held in Istanbul.

According to Anadolu Agency, the forum was organized by the Zero Waste Foundation in collaboration with the Turkish Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Ministry, the Turkish Agriculture and Forestry Ministry, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and UN-Habitat under the theme 'People, Places, Progress.' Erdogan emphasized that the session presents a significant opportunity to share the zero-waste vision, exchange ideas, and take collective steps for the future. She highlighted Trkiye's diverse efforts coordinated by the environment, urbanization, and climate change ministry.

Erdogan noted that Trkiye has developed a strong culture of solidarity involving state institutions, local governments, the private sector, and civil society, with a focus on awareness-raising activities. She pointed out the crucial role women have played in supporting environmental matters throughout this process.

In a post on the Turkish social platform NSosyal, Erdogan remarked on Trkiye's commitment to strengthening international cooperation and establishing shared goals to address climate and environmental issues. She expressed hope that the forum would foster strategic partnerships based on fair burden-sharing and lead to fruitful outcomes.
