Manila: A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck off southeastern Philippines at 11.35 GMT on Monday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said. The seismic event took place at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) beneath the earth's surface.

According to Anadolu Agency, the earthquake's epicenter was located 103 kilometers (64 miles) east of the Manay municipality in Davao Oriental province. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology assessed the quake's magnitude as 5.7. Despite the tremor, there were no immediate reports of damage or a tsunami warning issued following the event.
