Ankara: Trkiye's commercial vehicle exports amounted to $4.7 billion from January to September this year, marking a 14% increase compared to the same period last year. These figures were revealed by the Uludag Automotive Exporters' Association.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish auto industry's total exports hit $30.2 billion during the first nine months of the year, with commercial vehicles accounting for 15.8% of this total. Light commercial vehicles, pickup trucks, and other trucks were exported to 86 countries and autonomous regions.

The United Kingdom emerged as the largest market for Turkish commercial vehicles, importing goods worth $1.1 billion, which represents a 13.7% decrease from the previous year. Despite this decline, the UK accounted for 21% of Trkiye's total commercial vehicle exports during the period.

Germany was the second-largest importer, with its imports soaring by 426% to $772.8 million compared to the previous year. Slovenia, another key market, received exports worth $608.5 million, experiencing a slight decrease of 3.65%. Meanwhile, Spanish imports of Turkish light commercial vehicles and trucks saw a significant rise of 252.7%, totaling $505.8 million.

Italy imported $466.4 million worth of Turkish commercial vehicles, a decrease of 4.25% year-on-year. France purchased vehicles valued at $442.8 million, a 20.7% increase, while exports to Belgium fell by 25%, totaling $293.3 million.

Notably, exports to Austria experienced an extraordinary surge of 21,229%, reaching $79.4 million. Romania imported $59.2 million, a slight decline of 1%, while Denmark saw a significant drop of 39%, with imports totaling $54.8 million.
