Doha: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha during his official visit to Qatar, which is part of a three-nation Gulf tour. Erdogan arrived in the Qatari capital on Tuesday following his visit to Kuwait, at the invitation of the emir, for a series of high-level discussions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the one-on-one meeting between Erdogan and Al Thani took place behind closed doors at the Amiri Diwan in Doha. Following their meeting, delegations from Trkiye and Qatar signed a series of bilateral agreements, further solidifying their partnership.

A statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate revealed that Erdogan and Al Thani co-chaired the 11th meeting of the Trkiye-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee. The discussions covered a range of topics, including Trkiye-Qatar relations and other regional and global matters.

President Erdogan emphasized Trkiye's commitment to enhancing its relations with Qatar, which have progressed significantly in areas such as military cooperation, the defense industry, energy, trade, and investments. He highlighted the strategic partnership between the two nations as a significant contributor to regional and global stability.

Erdogan also addressed the recent ceasefire in Gaza, stating it has provided relief to Palestinians and reaffirmed the pursuit of a two-state solution as the only viable resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He assured continued efforts toward achieving this goal.

Furthermore, Erdogan expressed Trkiye's support for Syria's recovery process and committed to ongoing cooperation with Qatar in areas related to Syria, including energy, transportation, and humanitarian assistance.

The strong relations between Trkiye and Qatar are built on deep political, economic, and defense cooperation. After concluding his visit to Qatar, Erdogan proceeded to Oman, marking the final stop on his three-day Gulf tour.
