Istanbul: Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin met with a delegation from the Palestinian group Hamas in Istanbul to discuss the Gaza ceasefire. The conversation focused on the ongoing efforts to maintain peace in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Hamas delegation was led by Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau and head of the negotiation team. During the meeting, the delegation expressed gratitude to Trkiye, particularly President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for mediating and guaranteeing the ceasefire. They also reiterated their commitment to the ceasefire agreement despite reported violations by Israel.

The discussions included steps necessary to ensure the ceasefire process operates smoothly and ways to address existing challenges. The parties explored the implementation of the next phases of the ceasefire plan.

Additionally, the meeting included a briefing on Trkiye's humanitarian aid to Gaza and efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis. The meeting also covered ongoing collaborations with international organizations to increase aid inflows.
