Gaza city: The Palestinian group Hamas criticized Kazakhstan's decision to join the US-brokered Abraham Accords with Israel, calling it an attempt to whitewash crimes committed by Israel against Palestinians.

According to Anadolu Agency, in a statement, Hamas expressed that this move comes at a time when Israel and its leaders face growing international isolation and are being pursued by the International Criminal Court. Hamas urged all countries, especially Arab and Islamic nations, to sever ties with Israel and refrain from participating in normalization efforts.

Hamas also called for international support to bolster the resilience of the Palestinian people and to support their struggle for freedom, independence, and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

US President Donald Trump announced that Kazakhstan has agreed to join the normalization deals brokered during his term between Israel and Muslim-majority nations. Before Kazakhstan's inclusion, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates had entered the agreements.

Kazakhstan's entry into the Abraham Accords may not result in significant changes, as the country has maintained diplomatic relations with Israel since recognizing it in 1992. Despite this, US Vice President JD Vance stated that Kazakhstan's participation adds momentum to the Abraham Accords.
