Baku: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday emphasized the significance of sustaining a ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan. During a meeting with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Baku, Erdogan conveyed his concerns over the ongoing tensions and terrorist attacks in Pakistan, and the broader implications for regional stability.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan expressed hope that the ongoing talks facilitated by Trkiye will lead to lasting stability between the two nations. He reiterated Ankara's commitment to contributing to this peace process. Erdogan also mentioned the collaborative efforts between Trkiye and Pakistan to enhance cooperation in trade, energy, and the defense industry.

In addition to the regional issues, Erdogan stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza and the necessity to address the situation within the framework of the United Nations. Both Erdogan and Sharif were present in Baku to participate in Azerbaijan's Victory Day ceremony, where they observed a military parade earlier in the day.
