El-fasher: The city of El-Fasher in Sudan has become a focal point of devastating violence and suffering, according to the UN Human Rights Office in Sudan. The city, already beleaguered by an 18-month siege, is now experiencing brutal attacks that have intensified over the past ten days, leaving civilians in dire conditions. UN human rights representative Li Fung highlighted the severity of the situation in a video shared on US social media platform X, describing El-Fasher as a "city of grief" where residents are enduring atrocities on an unimaginable scale.

According to Anadolu Agency, the chaotic situation in El-Fasher is one of several critical issues currently unfolding globally. In the United States, a government shutdown has led to significant disruptions in air travel, with more than 2,000 flights canceled due to staff shortages at air traffic control centers and a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandate for a 4% reduction in flights at 40 major airports. The situation is expected to worsen with further flight cuts planned in the coming days. Airlines such as SkyWest, Southwest, and Envoy Air have been the most affected, while United, Delta, and American Airlines are also experiencing major delays.

Meanwhile, in the Middle East, Gaza's Health Ministry has received the remains of 15 more Palestinians from Israel, facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross under a ceasefire agreement. This brings the total number of Palestinian bodies returned since the ceasefire took effect on October 10 to 300. Forensic teams are working to identify the bodies and follow medical procedures before releasing them to families.
