Ankara: Two individuals lost their lives as a result of Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, marking a violation of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since November 2024, according to the Health Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, a statement from the ministry confirmed that one individual was killed in an airstrike aimed at the area between Al-Sawwaneh and Khirbet Selm in Bint Jbeil. The state news agency NNA detailed that an Israeli drone launched three missiles targeting a pickup truck in this location.

Another fatality was reported in a separate incident involving an attack on a car traveling on the Houmine al-Fawqa-Hamila road in the Iqlim al-Tuffah area of Nabatieh, as per the NNA report. Additionally, the news agency noted the presence of Israeli drones operating at low altitudes over several regions, including the Tyre district, Nabatieh province, the Iqlim Al-Tuffah region, and parts of Bint Jbeil.

Israeli military forces also conducted a combing operation using heavy weaponry on the outskirts of Alma Al-Shaab in the Tyre area. However, there has been no immediate response from the Israeli army regarding these strikes.

The situation in southern Lebanon has become increasingly tense over recent weeks, with the Israeli military conducting frequent air raids, purportedly targeting Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 4,000 individuals and injuries to nearly 17,000 more since the Israeli military actions began in October 2023, escalating into a full-scale offensive by September 2024.
