Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili discussed the ongoing investigation into the crash of a Turkish military cargo plane during a phone conversation on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan conveyed Ankara's appreciation for Tbilisi's cooperation in the investigation, as reported by Trkiye's Communications Directorate on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal. During the call, President Kavelashvili expressed his condolences to Turkey for the loss of Turkish soldiers' lives in the crash.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when a Turkish C-130 military cargo aircraft, which was traveling from Azerbaijan, crashed in Georgia. The Turkish Defense Ministry confirmed that the aircraft was carrying 20 people, including the flight crew.
