According to Anadolu Agency, Jean-Noel Barrot, France's foreign minister, highlighted the importance of preventing 'instability caused by potential escalations.' His comments follow warnings from Venezuela, which has expressed fears that recent US military deployments could trigger open conflict. Barrot emphasized the need for compliance with international law and urged the G7 nations to collaborate in combating narcotics trafficking while maintaining regional stability.

Barrot pointed out that the military operations in the Caribbean disregard international law. He underscored the potential impact on the more than a million French citizens residing in Caribbean territories, stressing the necessity for collective efforts to ensure their safety and the region's stability.

The US, under the leadership of former President Donald Trump, has been intensifying its military presence across Latin America. This includes the deployment of Marines, warships, fighter and bomber jets, submarines, and drones. Reports indicate that the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier is en route to the Caribbean as part of this military buildup.

In recent months, the US military has reportedly destroyed several Venezuelan fishing boats suspected of carrying drugs, although no public evidence has been presented. Additionally, Trump has publicly threatened action against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, accusing him of drug trafficking activities.
