Washington: Tech billionaire Elon Musk stated at the US-Saudi Investment Forum that artificial intelligence and humanoid robotics will drastically transform global society, foreseeing a future where poverty is eradicated and employment becomes optional.

According to Anadolu Agency, Musk, who is at the helm of companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, and the AI startup xAI, indicated that society should brace for significant structural changes as technological advancements continue. He projected that in the 'long term,' interpreted as a span of 10 to 20 years, traditional employment will no longer be necessary for the majority.

Musk elaborated, "My prediction is that work will be optional. It'll be like playing sports or a video game. you can go to the store and buy vegetables, or you can grow them in your backyard. It's much harder, but some people still do it because they like growing vegetables. That will be what work is like - optional."

Additionally, Musk revealed that xAI will collaborate with Saudi state-backed company Humain to establish a significant data center in Saudi Arabia, powered by up to 500 megawatts of electricity. This will be the company's largest center outside the United States.

The initiative, developed in cooperation with Nvidia, is part of a comprehensive package of military and technology agreements announced during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to Washington.
