US House Orders Justice Department to Release Epstein Files

Washington: The US House of Representatives has passed a significant piece of legislation compelling the Justice Department to release more files related to the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted sex offender. The bill, known as the Epstein Files Transparency Act, was overwhelmingly approved with a vote of 427-1 and will now move to the Senate for consideration.

According to Anadolu Agency, this legislative move follows the success of a discharge petition that prompted the House vote. The petition gathered the necessary 218 signatures after gaining support from Rep. Adelita Grijalva last week. The bill's passage reflects a strong bipartisan demand for transparency and further information regarding Epstein's activities and connections.

This development comes amid continued public interest and speculation about Epstein's connections to powerful individuals and the circumstances surrounding his death. The release of additional files is anticipated to shed light on these aspects, potentially providing new insights into the investigation.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act represents a concerted effort by lawmakers to ensure accountability and transparency in the handling of Epstein's case. As the bill progresses to the Senate, its implications for ongoing investigations and the broader pursuit of justice remain a focal point of public and legislative attention.
