Johannesburg: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in key diplomatic meetings with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali at the G20 Leaders' Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan's meetings were part of his diplomatic agenda during the two-day summit. The Turkish Presidency's website reported that the president's meeting with the Ethiopian leader occurred at the Johannesburg Expo Center, the summit venue, and was not open to the media.
Furthermore, Erdogan participated in a meeting with leaders of MIKTA, a cross-regional consultative platform that includes Trkiye, Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, and Australia. These engagements highlight Turkey's active role in international diplomacy and its efforts to strengthen ties with various countries.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, Chief Foreign Policy and Security Adviser Akif Cagatay Kilic, and other senior officials were present to support Erdogan during his meetings. These interactions underscore the importance of Turkey's diplomatic outreach at global events such as the G20 Summit.
