Berlin: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi sharply criticized Israel on Tuesday for violating international law and attempting to destabilize Syria. Safadi said at the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum that Syria's new government is trying to rebuild the country after 14 years of devastation but faces damaging interference by Israel, risking negative consequences for the entire region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Safadi emphasized that Syria's government is seeking peace and stability, aiming to focus on rebuilding the nation and ensuring safety and security for its citizens. However, he accused Israel of exacerbating the situation by occupying more Syrian territory and interfering in Syrian affairs, which he described as destructive.

Safadi warned that destabilizing Syria would have wide-reaching implications, affecting not only neighboring countries but also regions as far as Europe. He highlighted the ongoing migration crisis, pointing out that Jordan hosts approximately 1.3 million Syrian refugees, and Germany is also significantly affected. Safadi stressed the importance of international cooperation to support the Syrian government in overcoming its challenges, emphasizing that refugees are unlikely to return home until Syria is safe and secure, providing them with an opportunity to rebuild their lives.
