Washington: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a delegation from Ukraine has traveled to the United States to engage in discussions concerning Washington's proposed peace plan aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict. The delegation, led by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, is scheduled to meet with US officials for negotiations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy shared with RBC-Ukraine that he anticipates more detailed information following the meetings, which are expected to occur either late Thursday or Friday. The president highlighted previous discussions between Ukrainian and American representatives, which took place in Florida and resulted in a series of joint decisions and proposals.

Zelenskyy mentioned that subsequent to these interactions, the US delegation traveled to Moscow for consultations. Although he refrained from commenting on the nature of the Moscow talks, he confirmed that further discussions between Kyiv and Washington are already planned post-Moscow negotiations.

The Ukrainian president's comments come shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin met with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former President Donald Trump, in Moscow. The meeting revolved around the US's revised draft peace plan for Ukraine. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov described the discussions as constructive and informative, noting that they extensively addressed potential resolutions to the prolonged conflict.

Former President Trump expressed a positive outlook on the Moscow meeting, noting that the US delegation had a "reasonably good meeting" with President Putin and conveyed that the Russian leader appeared interested in reaching a settlement to end the war.
