Trkiye’s BIST 100 Index Records Midweek Decline

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, concluded the midweek session with a decline, closing at 11,193.88 points, marking a 0.4% decrease from the previous day's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index began the day at 11,273.34 and saw a reduction of 44.48 points from its Tuesday closure. The day's trading witnessed the index hitting a low of 11,170.79 and peaking at 11,316.54. Out of the total indexes, 26 experienced gains, whereas 71 ended the day with losses.

The volume of daily transactions amounted to 133.7 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $3.14 billion. The overall value of the BIST 100 index was reported at 10.52 trillion liras, translating to around $247.7 billion.

In the currency exchange realm, the USD/TRY rate was recorded at 42.6030 by 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT). The euro to lira exchange rate stood at 49.6405, with the British pound trading at 56.8120. Additionally, the market saw the price of an ounce of gold at $4,192.10 and the barrel price for Brent oil at $61.40.
