Ashgabat: Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed his willingness for Ankara to host peace talks aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This announcement came during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the International Peace and Trust Forum in Turkmenistan's capital.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized the importance of reaching a "just and lasting peace" to end the Moscow-Kyiv war. He highlighted the potential progress in areas that could provide practical benefits to both countries, suggesting that a limited ceasefire focusing on energy facilities and ports might be a constructive step forward.

Erdogan reaffirmed Trkiye's commitment to supporting peace efforts in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He stated that Ankara is actively monitoring the negotiation processes and is prepared to facilitate discussions in various formats to bring about a resolution.

In addition to discussing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Erdogan and Putin addressed other regional issues, including the situations in Palestine and Syria, as well as the peace process in the South Caucasus.
