Warsaw: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the United States has vowed to take military action for the first time if Russia breaches the ceasefire agreement with Ukraine, as reported by broadcaster TVP World. Tusk shared this development with reporters after attending peace talks in Berlin, which involved the US, Ukraine, and various European nations.
According to Anadolu Agency, Tusk stated, "For the first time I heard from the mouths of American negotiators that America will be involved in security guarantees for Ukraine in such a way that the Russians would have no doubt that (in the event of a ceasefire violation) the American response will be military if the Russians attacked Ukraine again." This revelation highlights a significant shift in the US's stance towards the conflict in Ukraine.
The Berlin peace talks culminated in a statement from European leaders, expressing their commitment to work with the US and Ukraine to achieve lasting peace that maintains Ukrainian sovereignty and European security. Tusk emphasized the newly visible alignment between the US, Europe, and Ukraine, marking a potential breakthrough, albeit not a guaranteed success, in diplomatic efforts.
