Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Sudan's Sovereignty Council leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan in Ankara on Thursday to discuss bilateral ties and the ongoing conflict in Sudan, according to Trkiye's Directorate of Communications.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Trkiye and Sudan, particularly in the sectors of trade, agriculture, defense, and mining. Erdogan emphasized the importance of deepening these ties amidst the current regional and global developments.

Erdogan expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, highlighting that the conflict has resulted in one of the world's largest humanitarian emergencies, with notable incidents occurring in the El Fasher region. He called for immediate and decisive actions to halt the violence and emphasized Trkiye's support for Sudan's peace, stability, and territorial integrity.

The Turkish president reiterated Trkiye's commitment to assisting the Sudanese people by providing humanitarian aid to address their urgent needs. Erdogan's statements reflect Trkiye's dedication to fostering peace and securing a ceasefire to establish enduring peace in Sudan.
