Doha: Qatar has called on all parties involved in Yemen's ongoing conflict to return to dialogue as a means of resolving the nation's internal strife. In a statement, the Qatari Foreign Ministry emphasized its unwavering support for initiatives aimed at bolstering peace and societal security in the Republic of Yemen.

According to Anadolu Agency, the statement highlighted the necessity for close cooperation among all Yemeni factions to prevent escalation and address outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful methods. The ministry underscored the importance of maintaining Yemen's unity and territorial integrity during this process.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry also reiterated its support for the legitimate Yemeni government, the Presidential Leadership Council, and efforts spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to enhance security and stability, as well as to promote de-escalation in Yemen. The call for dialogue comes amid recent developments in the eastern province of Hadramout, where Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces have taken control following clashes with the Hadramout Tribes Alliance and government-aligned forces of the First Military Region.

The situation escalated further when STC forces extended their control to the Mahra province, previously held by government authorities. In response, a joint Saudi-Emirati military team was dispatched to Aden in southern Yemen to coordinate with the STC, aiming to ensure the withdrawal of its forces to their prior positions outside the two provinces.

The STC's territorial gains have sparked growing local and regional demands for their withdrawal from Hadramout and Mahra, which collectively comprise about half of Yemen's territory, totaling approximately 555,000 square kilometers. The United Nations has issued a warning that the continued escalation of conflict could lead to severe repercussions for Yemen, a country already grappling with one of the world's most severe humanitarian and economic crises.
