Tehran: Iran is in a state of 'comprehensive war' with the United States, Israel, and Europe, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced Saturday. He made these remarks during an interview published on the official website of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Iranian president emphasized the severity of the current conflict, describing it as more dangerous and complex than the Iran-Iraq war that took place between 1980 and 1988. Pezeshkian accused the US, Israel, and some European nations of supporting efforts to destabilize Iran. He expressed concerns about the multifaceted nature of the conflict, noting that unlike the Iran-Iraq war where the enemy was clearly defined, the current situation involves economic pressure and internal societal challenges.

The Iranian president highlighted recent military actions as evidence of the escalating tensions. During a 12-day conflict with Israel in June, the US military conducted airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan using bunker-buster bombs. These strikes followed a surprise attack by Israel on Iran, which resulted in the deaths of senior military commanders and nuclear scientists, as well as damage to several nuclear sites.
