Miami: US President Donald Trump declared that any agreement to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict would require Washington's approval as he prepares to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for discussions in Florida. "He (Zelenskyy) doesn't have anything until I approve it," Trump stated to Politico, ahead of their meeting slated for Sunday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump expressed a positive outlook for the upcoming talks, mentioning that he anticipates a productive dialogue with Zelenskyy. "We'll see what he's got," Trump remarked, indicating his expectation for positive outcomes. Additionally, Trump conveyed optimism regarding ongoing diplomatic efforts with Moscow, suggesting that discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin would also be favorable. He mentioned plans to speak with the Russian leader "soon."

Zelenskyy previously confirmed his intention to meet with Trump to deliberate on a draft roadmap aimed at ending the war. The discussions will also include proposed security guarantees and an economic arrangement. Speaking to Axios, Zelenskyy emphasized that the primary aim of the talks is to finalize a framework and "schedule" for resolving the ongoing conflict. He noted that the peace process has progressed to the "next level," necessitating direct presidential involvement to expedite a resolution.

The Kremlin has stated that Moscow and Washington have agreed to continue dialogue on a potential settlement, highlighting the ongoing international efforts to address the conflict.
