Ankara: Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan on Thursday received Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), at the presidential state guesthouse in Ankara. The meeting focused on the ongoing efforts and dedication in supporting the Palestinian people.
According to Anadolu Agency - English, Erdogan expressed her hopes for the work carried out by the UNRWA to lead to concrete and lasting results that would alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. She shared her sentiments on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, emphasizing the importance of dedication in achieving these outcomes.
Lazzarini, in his response, conveyed gratitude and highlighted the significant leadership role played by the first lady regarding the issue of Palestine. He acknowledged the support provided by Turkey in addressing the needs of Palestinian refugees.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Mehmet Gulluoglu, Turkey's coordinator for humanitarian aid to Palestine, indicating Turkey's active involvement in humanitarian efforts in the region.
