Victoria: The southeastern Australian state of Victoria is grappling with the destruction of at least 130 structures as over 35 bushfires continue to devastate the region. The crisis has led state Premier Jacinta Allan to declare a state of disaster, as the fires show no signs of abating.

According to Anadolu Agency, more than 20,000 homes have been left without power in regional Victoria. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has reported that several areas are under evacuation orders as fires rage out of control, posing a significant threat to lives and properties.

SBS News has highlighted that approximately 300,000 hectares have already been consumed by the fires in Victoria. Meanwhile, a category two cyclone has formed off the North Queensland coast, bringing the potential for heavy rain and flooding, adding to the region's challenges.

In response to the escalating situation, a total fire ban has been declared for Victoria on Sunday. The Australian Capital Territory has also been placed under a total fire ban, with extreme fire danger warnings issued for certain parts of Western Australia. Southern Australia is enduring a significant heatwave, one of the most intense on record.
