Aleppo: Syria's Deir Hafir area administration reported that the SDF terrorist group is preventing civilians from exiting through a designated humanitarian corridor. This development was highlighted by Syrian media.

According to Anadolu Agency, this situation persists despite an extension granted by the army's operations command, allowing civilians more time to leave Deir Hafir in eastern Aleppo and its surrounding areas. A correspondent for Syrian al-Ikhbariya TV noted that Syrian army units and civil defense teams have been stationed near the designated humanitarian corridor in eastern Aleppo province. This deployment, near the village of Humaymah, is part of the Syrian Army's preparations to facilitate civilian movement through the announced corridor.

Due to the blockage, civilians have been forced to evacuate the village of Al-Mabouja, which is linked to the Deir Hafir area, using perilous secondary and agricultural routes to reach areas under Syrian state control. In March 2025, the Syrian presidency announced an agreement for the integration of the terrorist organization YPG/SDF into state institutions, reaffirming the country's territorial unity and rejection of division attempts.

The following month, Syrian authorities signed a separate agreement concerning the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods. This agreement stipulated that both districts would remain administrative parts of Aleppo city while respecting their local particularities. It also banned armed manifestations, restricted weapons to internal security forces, and required the withdrawal of SDF military forces to areas east of the Euphrates in northeastern Syria. However, authorities reported that the SDF has not adhered to these agreements.

Since the ouster of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December 2024, after a 24-year rule, the Syrian government has been intensifying efforts to restore nationwide security.
