Beirut: One person was killed on Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike despite the ongoing ceasefire, Lebanese media reported. The state news agency NNA stated that the strike hit the Zahrani area in southern Lebanon, resulting in the death of one individual.

According to Anadolu Agency, there is currently no available information regarding any injuries from the airstrike. Additionally, there has been no immediate response or comment from Hezbollah or the Lebanese government concerning the attack.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah had brought an end to over a year of attacks, which resulted in more than 4,000 fatalities and left 17,000 people injured. These confrontations occurred amid the backdrop of Israel’s war in Gaza.

Under the terms of the ceasefire, the Israeli army was expected to complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon by January 2025. However, the withdrawal has only been partial, with Israel continuing to maintain a military presence at five border outposts.
