Makassar: An Indonesian search and rescue team on Thursday recovered six more bodies from a plane that crashed in the Mount Bulusaraung area of South Sulawesi province.

According to Anadolu Agency, Colonel Infantry Dody Priyo Hadi, assistant for operations at the Hasanuddin Military Command in Makassar, confirmed the discovery of the bodies. He stated that the bodies were located close to one another within a radius of about 50 meters from the initial discovery point.

Colonel Hadi noted that the authorities were still unable to determine whether the findings were intact bodies or body parts. The rescue team continues to conduct sweeps in the area to ensure no victims are left behind.

Previously, authorities recovered the bodies of two individuals from the ATR 42-500 aircraft, as well as the aircraft's black box. The ATR 42-500, operated by Indonesia Air Transport, lost contact on Saturday while flying from Yogyakarta to Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi. Debris from the plane was discovered on Sunday. The aircraft was carrying 11 people, including eight crew members and three passengers.
