Abu dhabi: Trilateral talks between Russian, US, and Ukrainian delegations in Abu Dhabi concluded their first of two days on Friday, the White House told Anadolu. Friday's meeting was "productive," an official said, adding that deliberations in the Emirati capital would continue on Saturday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the talks, stating that efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine war were moving forward. He emphasized the importance of implementing the 'Anchorage formula,' referencing a previous meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Peskov highlighted the ongoing progress and the critical need to follow through on the agreed-upon formula, noting recent remarks by Trump about the nearing end of the conflict.

Peskov's statements were in line with those of Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, who spoke following a meeting between Putin and US presidential envoy Steven Witkoff. Ushakov had pointed out that resolving territorial issues according to the Anchorage formula is essential for a lasting settlement.

The United Arab Emirates announced the official commencement of the first trilateral talks between delegations from Russia, the US, and Ukraine on Friday in Abu Dhabi. The UAE Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying the talks began in the capital and were scheduled to continue over two days, as part of the ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and identify political solutions to the crisis.
